1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vacuum to date. Its most significant innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes, and the pet waste that the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often plough right through). It's the first robot to send you pictures of the objects that it encounters, meaning you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.
The Combo j7+ is also the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, removing spills and dirt with ease without leaving any trace that was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't sweep in areas you don’t would like. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it by voice.
Its design is an improvement over the rest with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy than a loud, obnoxious one. Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal It also self-empties which can cut down on cleaning time.
In our tests the j7+ performed quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one place instead of scattering it all over the floor. It was able capture sand, small gravel and even a bit of grit. The majority of robots cannot do this. It did all this without getting caught in our pet's hair.
The j7+, though not as sophisticated as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and cannot clean the stairs, it's an excellent choice for those who need both mopping and a vacuum. It's not expensive, and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a long time to download updates, and often it's hard to determine whether the update is working until you see it in the action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking to purchase an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, the best option is probably one that is a hybrid. These machines are equipped with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. These bots also have a variety of extra features like smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they tend to be pricey at full retail, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.
Roborock has some of our top robot vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. It's the cheapest model of their auto-empty line. Although it might not include some of the premium features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories) but it's an excellent choice if you are willing to compromise to save a few bucks.
The Q5+ is noticeable gentle around obstacles like wall legs and table legs which makes it a good choice for homes with lots of furniture. It is also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a place where many robot vacuums that are less expensive do not excel in. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is excellent and has very few misses in corners and along walls.
The Q5+, just like other Roborock products can be controlled via only a few buttons on your device or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and modify your home map or change the room's label.
If you opt for the Q5+, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock designed specifically to make this robot easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver however, once it's in place emptying the bin can be done without difficulty. It also comes with a large LCD display, which is nice to have when setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't essential for most people but it can help you to keep the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated, well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of both vacuuming and mopping. Its design and features are some of the most advanced available however it's expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks great and can be hidden when not in use. But the station's biggest selling point is how it automates many tasks and functions that most other robots leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water and also electrolyze and warm the water. Many other robots require you to perform this.
Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tried that does very well at collecting debris from bare floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.
The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially in the area of navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robovacs, which means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas of the house. It's also unable to climb stairs like other models and isn't equipped with a docking station to create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a vacuum robot that can do everything.
But if you want to save some cash, or just don't care about the limitations of this machine there are many alternatives on the market, including a lot of eufy models that cost considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides the same experience in the app, but with additional features such as stairs, a fully-function dock, and better overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy, a Anker company has a proven track record of producing robot vacuums that strike a good balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on carpets and hard flooring, and mopping capabilities for a low cost. It's easy to set up, just connect one of the side brush, turn it on and plug in your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. It is recommended to keep the dock close to an electrical outlet and enough space for it to move around however.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be precise It can be placed under couches and other low-clearance furniture. The design is less flashy than some of the rival models, and features sleek black finishes and three physical buttons such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Clean (which cleans the area in an arc for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to do unscheduled cleaning with voice commands.
The way that the G30 cleans is what differentiates it from its competitors. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of the non-movable objects that are in its path and then keeps track of what it has already cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. The elegant G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower cost of operation.
